IVE ANNUAL TECHNICAL SEMINAR
TURNHOUT, BELGIUM 2004
12th to 15th September 2004

'2004 - VITREOUS ENAMELLING
"A MISCELLANY"

  • Why dont you try our style of seminar if you have never been to one before, we are sure that you will come back again and again.

  • Forget the boring condescending type of seminar
you will learn from this one and enjoy it too.

  • If you have an interest in enamel, then join us and be prepared to change your mind about technical seminars!

THE SEMINAR
The Institute of Vitreous Enamellers is the only body in the U.K. which provides education on vitreous enamelling. This Seminar is designed for anyone with an interest in Vitreous Enamelling. These Annual Seminars are recognised as the training ground for the future of the enamelling industry. Once again, we are pushing out the frontiers of our seminars and we are going to Belgium. This year we have two visits. The first is to the foundry and enamelling plant of Dovre nv, a dynamic company where you will see the foundry, the enamelling plant and assembly of a range of gas, oil and solid fuel room heaters. The second visit is to the Liège works of the Arcelor group. This is an integrated steel works where you will get the chance to experience the sheer overwhelming power and size of the process. A visit to a steelworks is a truly memorable experience and one which everyone should make at least once in their lifetime. Click here for booking form.

THE VENUE
Priorij Corsendonk, the Seminar hotel, was originally a priory of the order of St Augustine, founded in 1395. After various uses, it was converted into a hotel and conference centre in 1975. The original architecture has been fully retained but now offers everything that we require. We will be spending three nights and having most of our meals here, commencing with dinner on the evening of Sunday 12th September and ending with breakfast on Wednesday 15th September. Click here for booking form.

THE SUBJECT
We are presenting a mixture of papers - hence the title “A Miscellany”. With two visits to fit in, we are limited to five technical papers, but as usual you can be sure that the quality will be there! A summary of the subjects of the papers is given below “Technical Content of Seminar”. Click here for booking form

WHO SHOULD ATTEND
If you are interested in enamels or enamelling, then you should be there! This seminar will give yet another chance to see what is happening in one more country. With the current interest in cast iron enamelling the visit to Dovre is very appropriate and the visit to Arcelor at Liège will give you a chance to find out what the current steel shortages are all about. The technical papers will encompass the usual combination of practice, theory and discussion. And, of course, don’t forget that the opportunity of “networking” offered during these seminars is one of the best ways to ensure the future of our very specialised industry.

The package will interest managers, technicians and practical personnel. As a supplier of raw materials or frits, you will have a chance to find out what your customers really want. As a customer, who actually does the enamelling, you will have a chance to see another plant and most certainly learn something new.

We have arranged outward travel on a Sunday to minimise the loss of time of your critical personnel. This will limit the time off site to three full weekdays. Surely a good investment for the future. Click here for booking form
